GutSense Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 November 2026

GutSense ("the app", "we") is a food and symptom diary that helps you notice patterns between what you eat and how your gut feels. This policy explains what happens to your information. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.

The short version

1. Who is responsible

GutSense is published by Kindcraft Studio, India. Contact: kindcraftstudios@gmail.com.

2. Information stored only on your device

Everything you enter in the diary is saved in a private database inside the app on your phone:

This includes health-related information. It never leaves your device unless you choose to share it — for example by exporting the doctor PDF report or a backup file and sending it through the share menu. Where that file goes is then your choice and governed by the app you share it with.

3. Information that leaves your device

WhatWhenWho receives itWhy
Meal photo and/or the text you typed Only when you tap Analyse with AI meal scanning available Our scanning server (hosted by Cloudflare) and Google's Gemini API To recognise the dish and its likely ingredients. Processed for that request only; we do not store it, and we use Google's paid API tier, under which Google does not use the content to train its models.
Purchase and subscription status, an anonymous app user ID, device type and app version When you open the app or buy / restore a subscription Google Play or Apple App Store, and RevenueCat (subscription management) To process payments, unlock Pro and restore purchases on a new phone.

We do not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell or rent any information.

4. Legal basis (EU/UK users)

Health information you enter is processed on your device on the basis of your explicit consent, which you give by entering it; you can withdraw it at any time by deleting the data. AI analysis is performed at your request (consent / performance of the service you asked for). Purchase processing is necessary to provide a service you bought.

Users in India

For users in India, personal data is processed in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Your diary data is processed on your own device with your consent, and you may withdraw consent at any time by deleting it (Settings → Delete all data) or uninstalling the app. For questions, requests or grievances about your personal data, write to our contact: kindcraftstudios@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.

5. How long information is kept

6. Your rights and choices

Because we don't hold your diary on any server, we cannot access, correct or recover it for you. For questions about purchase data held by RevenueCat, contact us at the address above.

7. Security

Diary data is stored inside the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. Network requests use encrypted HTTPS connections. Keep your phone locked with a PIN or biometrics to protect your entries.

8. Children

GutSense is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Not medical advice

GutSense shows statistical patterns in your own entries. It is a wellness tool, not a medical device, and does not diagnose, treat or cure any condition. Talk to a doctor about persistent or severe symptoms.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
